Beyondthe reused dimensions from the policy-centric schemas and the new claimcentric dimensions just listed, there are a large number of indicators and descriptions related to a claim. Designers are sometimes tempted to dump all these descriptive attributes into a claim dimension.
This approach makes sense for high-cardinality descriptors, such as the specifi c address where the loss occurred or a narrative describing the event. However, in general, you should avoid creating dimensions with the same number of rows as the fact table.
