Here’s a quick question: How much of your time during an average day is spent in a state of inspiration? If you’re like most people, you probably spend so much time getting things done and living daily routines that little time is left over for those special activities that are inspiring. Yes, we enjoy our work and, yes, we enjoy and love family and friends. But do we experience inspiration? Do our activities truly uplift us?

As I mentioned earlier, I experienced a version of this challenge when writing this book. Generating the ideas for the text was exciting, but the routine of actually writing the pages became a chore—particularly after long days at work. That changed when I moved my work area to my den, attached high-quality speakers to my laptop, and did the rest of my writing from my office—accompanied by my favorite music.
